Introducción a los vectores

Un vector representa una cantidad con magnitud y dirección. Se denota por letras en negrita, como v.

Magnitud y dirección

La magnitud es su tamaño, y la dirección indica hacia dónde apunta. Un vector puede descomponerse en componentes.

Componentes en el plano

En 2D, un vector v = (x, y) tiene componentes x e y que indican su posición y desplazamiento.

Suma de vectores

La suma de vectores se obtiene sumando sus componentes: v + w = (v_x + w_x, v_y + w_y).

Resta de vectores

La resta se realiza componente a componente: v - w = (v_x - w_x, v_y - w_y).

Producto por escalar

Multiplicar un vector por un escala cambia su magnitud manteniendo o invirtiendo su dirección: c·v.

Producto punto

El producto punto entre v y w es v·w = v_x w_x + v_y w_y, útil para ángulo y proyecciones.

Proyección de vectores

La proyección de v sobre w da su componente en esa dirección, útil para descomponer vectores.

Norma y ángulo

La norma de v es su magnitud: |v| = sqrt(v_x^2 + v_y^2). El ángulo se halla con funciones trigonométricas.

Aplicaciones de vectores

Los vectores se usan en física, gráficos, rutas y robótica. Permiten describir desplazamientos, fuerzas y direcciones con precisión.
