Activity to help Grade 5 Students learn about gravity

by Bahaa
1

I am a pull you cannot see, Between your desk and even me. I exist wherever there is mass, Yet huge objects make me strong and vast.

2

I am the force that pulls you down, When you jump or toss a ball around. I always pull toward Earth’s center, No matter the country you enter.

3

I am the amount of matter inside, Big objects have more of my kind. The more of me an object has, The stronger its gravitational mass.

4

I slow a parachuter in the air, Pushing upward everywhere. Without me, all objects would fall the same, I push against motion—that’s my game.

5

I am always there, I never stop, Even when balloons seem to float up top. You cannot turn me off or on, I pull all day, from dusk till dawn.

6

I am the middle of Earth inside, Where gravity pulls from every side. No matter where you stand or roam, Toward me is gravity’s home.

7

I am a path that objects take, Because of gravity’s pull and wake. Planets and moons follow me, Curving through space endlessly.

8

I travel around Earth in space, Held by gravity in my place. Some of us are built by humans too, To send signals back to you.
