Aprende adjetivos posesivos en inglés

by Elizabeth Martínez
1

1. ¿Qué son los adjetivos posesivos?

Los adjetivos posesivos acompañan al sustantivo y muestran a quién pertenece algo. No llevan apóstrofe. Se colocan antes del sustantivo: my libro, your casa.

2

2. Primera persona singular

Para mostrar pertenencia de la primera persona, usamos my. Ejemplos: my friend, my car. No se cambia con el plural.

3

3. Segunda persona (tú y ustedes)

Para la segunda persona: your. Ejemplos: your dog, your ideas. Se usa tanto para tú y ustedes.

4

4. Tercera persona singular (él y ella)

Para él y para ella, usamos his y her. Ejemplos: his book, her laptop.

5

5. Tercera persona neutra (it)

Para objetos o animales, its es correcto. Ejemplos: its color, its paws.

6

6. Primera persona plural

Para nosotros, usamos our. Ejemplos: our home, our plans.

7

7. Segunda persona plural

Para ustedes o plurales, también your. Ejemplos: your friends, your ideas.

8

8. Tercera persona plural

Para ellos/ellas, usamos their. Ejemplos: their school, their toys.

9

9. Diferencia con contracciones

Los adjetivos posesivos no se contraen. En cambio, los pronombres posesivos sí pueden: their vs. they’re (contracción).

10

10. Práctica rápida

Completa con el adjetivo posesivo correcto: ___ book is this? Es el de youyour book. ¡Practica igual con my, his, her, its, our, their!
