En condiciones de calcio bajo en la sangre, esta hormona se activa para elevarlo. Es producida por las glándulas paratiroides y actúa sobre hueso, riñón e intestino para aumentar el calcio plasmático. ¿Qué hormona paratiroidea es?

Es la hormona opuesta a la calcitonina en su función principal de regulación del calcio en plasma.

Actúa para subir el calcio en sangre aumentando su liberación de los huesos, la reabsorción renal y la absorción intestinal.

Se produce en las glándulas paratiroides.
