Himpunan adalah kumpulan objek unik yang disebut elemen. Elemen bisa berupa angka, huruf, atau benda lain yang memenuhi sifat tertentu.

Elemen dinyatakan dengan simbol , misalnya 3 ∈ A. Jika sebuah elemen bukan bagian dari himpunan, gunakan .

Slide 3: Notasi Himpunan

Himpunan dilambangkan dengan huruf huruf besar, misalnya A atau B, tanpa urutan atau elemen duplikat.

Himpunan kosong dilambangkan dengan ∅ atau { } dan memiliki jumlah elemen nol.

Contoh: A = {2, 4, 6} berisi tiga elemen unik. Perhatikan tidak ada elemen ganda.
