I am a quick vowel sound you hear in words like cat and apple. I help start many simple, everyday words, and I’m one of the basic sounds we learn early in reading. What am I?

Hints

It is not the long A sound as in 'table' nor the I sound in 'sit'.

It is used in simple CVC words like bat and sat.

It is the vowel sound of the word 'cat'.

Ako ang tunog na bukas ang bibig kapag binibigkas, at may dalawang halimbawa na karaniwan nating ginagamit. Kapag mataas ang bibig, mala-‘A’ ang tunog; kapag maliit at pahaba, parang ‘I’ ang tunog. Ano ako?

Hints

Ginagamit ako para bigyan ng tinig at haba ang mga salita.

Kabilang ako sa what we call vowels, tulad ng A at I.

Ako ay isang klase ng tunog na hindi katinig.
