I have pages but I’m not a tree, I have a spine but no body to see. Inside me many stories hide. What am I?

The bigger I become, the less you can see. I appear when light starts to leave quietly.

It follows you all day long, but disappears at night. It never talks or walks, yet it stays by your side.

It has cities, but no houses; it has rivers, but no water; it has mountains, but no trees. What is it?
