¿Qué es una ecuación?

Una ecuación es una igualdad que tiene dos lados separados por el signo =.

Contienen números, letras (variables) y operaciones. El objetivo: encontrar el valor que hace verdadera la igualdad.

Elementos básicos

En una ecuación hay dos lados, una variable (como x) y una o más operaciones (suma, resta, multiplicación, división).

La clave es respetar el equilibrio entre ambos lados.

Ejemplo simple

Si x + 7 = 12, para hallar x, suma o resta ambos lados: x = 12 - 7 = 5.

Propiedad de igualdad

Lo que haces a un lado debe hacerse al otro para mantener la ecuación verdadera.

Ejemplos: sumar, restar, multiplicar o dividir ambos lados.

Solución paso a paso (1)

Plantea la inecuación para aislar la variable.

En 2x = 14, divide ambos lados entre 2 para obtener x = 7.

Solución paso a paso (2)

En x - 4 = 9, suma 4 a ambos lados: x = 13.

Verifica sustituyendo: 13 - 4 = 9, correcto.

Verificación

Siempre compara el resultado sustituyendo la x en la ecuación original.

Si las dos partes quedan iguales, la solución es correcta.

Problemas con multiplicación y división

Ejemplos: 3x = 15 divide entre 3: x = 5.

O x/2 = 6 multiplica por 2: x = 12.

Ecuaciones con paréntesis

Aplica reglas de distribución: 2(x + 3) = 10 se transforma en 2x + 6 = 10 y luego se resuelve.

Lee la ecuación varias veces, identifica la variable, aplica operaciones iguales a ambos lados y verifica.
