I make turning the wheels feel effortless, especially as the engine hums nearby. My heart is a pump, my ally a control valve, and a reservoir keeps me fed. When you guide the wheel, I magnify your effort just enough to ease the turn. What am I?

Hints

There are hoses, a reservoir, and a control valve that manage the steering assist.

A pump driven by the engine moves the fluid, and a valve decides how much help is given.

I use liquid under pressure to help steer, not pure mechanical cables alone.
