La caída libre es el movimiento de un objeto que se desplaza hacia abajo cuando la resistencia del aire es despreciable. Se considera una aceleración constante.

En caída libre, la aceleración es constante y apunta hacia abajo. Su magnitud es aproximadamente g ≈ 9.81 m/s².

Si el cuerpo parte desde reposo, su velocidad varía con el tiempo según v = g t.

La posición respecto a la altura inicial se describe con s(t) = (1/2) g t² para inicio desde reposo.
