A rational number is any number that can be written as a fraction in the form:

a/b

where:

  • a and b are integers (whole numbers that can be positive, negative, or zero),
  • and b must not equal to zero because division by zero is undefined.

If it is liked terms or fractions with the same denominators. Add only the numerators and just copy the denominators.


Example: 2/7 + 3/7 = 5/7
