Slide 1: Apa itu korosi?

Korosi adalah proses kerusakan material akibat reaksi kimia atau elektro-kimia dengan lingkungannya. Umumnya terjadi pada logam seperti besi.

Pada materi ini, kita bagi menjadi dua kelompok untuk memahami contoh nyata.

Slide 2: Faktor penyebab korosi

Faktor utama: air, oksigen, elektrolit (garam), suhu, dan kehadiran zat kimia kimia tertentu. Lingkungan menentukan kecepatan korosi.

Slide 3: Reaksi korosi dasar

Korosi besi sering melibatkan reaksi redoks: logam ↔ ion logam di larutan. Elektron mengalir melalui logam, ion bergerak di larutan.

Slide 4: Jenis korosi yang umum

Beberapa jenis: korosi merata, korosi celah, pitting, dan korosi galvanik saat dua logam berbeda bersentuhan.

Melindungi logam dengan katodik (anoda seng) atau anodik (layaknya cat anti karat). Mengurangi aliran elektron ke logam.
