What is a Plant?

Plants are living things that grow and make food with sunlight, water, and air. They come in many shapes, sizes, and colors near us.

Roots anchor plants and absorb water from soil. Some roots store food, while others spread wide to find moisture.

Leaves capture sunlight with chlorophyll. Through photosynthesis, they change carbon dioxide and water into sugars that fuel growth.
