Instrumento que sirve para medir el tiempo.

El primer artefacto en cuestión fue la Clepsidra o de agua, inventado por los antiguos egipcios, que consistía en un recipiente lleno de agua que se vaciaba a intervalos regulares gracias a un orificio practicado en su parte inferior.

Puede medir periodos de tiempo cortos.

Puede ser análogo o digital.

Mide las horas, los minutos y los segundos.
