About this activity

You and your team have planned a new robbery. Sneak into a 100 room house and take all of it's stuff. But because surveillance is on in the front area and in most rooms, you can only rob rooms 2, 3, 6, and 7. You can visit other rooms if you like. As long as you enter it no more than 8 times. You can drop-off items that you robbed. But they can only be placed in adjacent rooms. You can visit as many rooms as you like but your team must visit at least 6 rooms and you must visit at least 10/45 different rooms. What is the maximum number of rooms to visit?

As we can see for this riddle, it may be very useful to draw possible routes for you and your team.

Hints

If you don't really understand this, imagine the room had 1,000 rooms. And because we rob only 4 houses in the 100 room house, we rob 40 houses, (4%) which is the same value as the regular one. And because we must enter 4 rooms, we can remove 4 from the 10, leaving us with 6 rooms left.

If you didn't understand the 2nd clue, you might want to also think about where to place the stuff. Why the adjacent rooms of course! Say you robbed room 2. You would have rooms 1 and 3. Because you will also rob room 3 you would wanna head ther. Then you could drop off your items and head towards room 4 with those items. Then head back to room 3 and collect the remaining.

If you didn't notice that the other 2 partners must visit at least 6 rooms, then you just did. which can get a bit tricky. But at the same time, it could also help you. We know 2 partners need to visit at least 6 rooms. That makes 12 so we can take 12 rooms off of 45. This creates another 2-digit number. Can you find the solution?
