Some common features of rural landscapes are croplands, forests, grasslands, rivers and lakes. 2 Urban Landscape The urban landscape is created by humans. Some examples of urban landscapes are cities and towns. 3 Coastal Landscape The coastal landscape is when the mainland meets the sea. The coast is shaped by the actions of the sea and the wind. 4 Mountain Landscape Mountain landscapes are surrounded by mountain ranges. They are high in elevation and cold in climate. 5 Flat Landscape Flat landscapes are large areas of flat land. There are no mountains or hills.
