Σίγουρα όλοι μας έχουμε δει μυρμηγκοφωλιά. Η είσοδός της είναι μία μικρή τρύπα πάνω στο χώμα.

Από την είσοδο της φωλιάς, τα μυρμήγκια- εργάτες μεταφέρουν την τροφή που βρίσκουν, για να την αποθηκεύσουν στη συνέχεια μέσα στις αποθήκες που υπάρχουν κάτω από το χώμα!

Κάπως έτσι είναι η μυρμηγκοφωλιά από μέσα! Είναι γεμάτη από διαδρόμους και μικρά "δωμάτια" και "αποθήκες" μέσα στα οποία φυλάσσεται η τροφή για το χειμώνα.

Καλά κρυμμένη μέσα στη φωλιά, βρίσκεται και η βασίλισσα των μυρμηγκιών! Η βασίλισσα δεν βγαίνει ποτέ έξω και αυτό που κάνει είναι να γεννάει αυγά. Τα υπόλοιπα μυρμήγκια που είναι μέσα στη φωλιά φροντίζουν τα αυγά και προσέχουν τη βασίλισσα, η οποία είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερη σε μέγεθος. Μπορείς να ξεχωρίσεις στην εικόνα ποια είναι η βασίλισσα;
