I am written the same way forwards as well as backwards.

Hints

I am pronounced as a letter, written with three, I have a twin whom I cannot see.

I have a lid but I'm not a coffee mug; I have a socket but I don't have a plug.

In hard times I sometimes run, in good times I glow like the sun.

Although I'm not a curtain I get closed every night. I’m sort of like a window and can be both opened wide or closed real tight.

When getting someone’s attention I am what you might try to catch, but if you’re a pirate at sea It might be covered by a patch.
