La Revolución de Febrero (marzo de 1917, según el calendario occidental)
Se originó por la crisis económica, el descontento popular y el agotamiento por la participación de Rusia en la Primera Guerra Mundial.
Hubo huelgas, protestas y motines en Petrogrado (actual San Petersburgo).
El zar Nicolás II abdicó y se estableció un Gobierno Provisional, liderado por Aleksandr Kérenski, que intentó instaurar una democracia.
Sin embargo, el nuevo gobierno mantuvo a Rusia en la guerra, lo que provocó aún más descontento.
