Cyberbullying is when someone is bullied online, like on a phone, tablet, or computer.

Cyberbullying can only happen online. It might be on social media, in games, or when people send mean messages through phones, tablets, or computers.

When people are cyberbullied, they can feel very sad, scared, or upset. Sometimes they might want to be alone or stop using the internet.

Cyberbullying takes place online and includes actions such as posting mean comments, spreading lies about someone, sharing embarrassing pictures without their permission, or pretending to be someone else to cause trouble.

Cyberbullying means being mean or hurtful to others online. If you’re given examples, look for the one that doesn’t involve being unkind, spreading lies, or sharing embarrassing things. That one would NOT be cyberbullying!

If someone is being cyberbullied, they should tell a trusted adult, like a teacher or parent. It’s also important to stop talking to the bully and not respond. They can block the bully online so they can’t send more messages. Keeping a record of the bullying, like saving messages or screenshots, can help the adult understand and take action.

If someone sees cyberbullying happening, they can also support the person being bullied by asking, "Are you okay?" and "Have you told a grown-up?" They should immediately tell a trusted adult, like a teacher or parent. It’s important not to join in or encourage the bullying. Helping to stop cyberbullying makes the internet a better place for everyone!
