They’re everywhere.... They’re always connected. These are the “digital natives."

Some older people are adapting well to technology. Some people call them “digital immigrants."

Others are having trouble(= problems). Some are refusing to use(= say NO and don't want to use) any new technology.

They switch back and forth between their social and professional lives. They don’t see the need to separate the two.

“Switching back and forth” means doing things one after the other, again and again. “back and forth” means: moving between two places, people, or ideas repeatedly. She ball goes back and forth between the players. She walks back and forth in the room when she’s nervous.

•Digital = related to computers, the internet, and technology. •Divide = a big difference or gap. •Generation = a group of people born around the same time (e.g., parents and children). Digital divide between generations ➡️ The difference in how young and old people use or understand technology. •Widening = getting bigger or growing. (Like a road or a river becoming wider.) Full meaning in simple words: Young and old people are becoming more different in how they use technology.

🧰 Equipment (noun) = the things you need to do a job or activity “They bring equipment like laptops, smartphones, and earbuds.” ➡️ This means they carry tools (devices) they need for work or study.

❌ Refuse (verb) = to say no or not accept something. She refuses to eat vegetables. (She says no.) They refused the offer. (They didn’t say yes.) “Some people refuse to use high-tech devices.” ➡️ This means they don’t want to use new technology.

👩‍💼 Enter the workforce (phrase) = to start working in a job for the first time. 🟢 Easy examples: When you enter the workforce, you begin your career. Many people enter the workforce in their early 20s. “As digital natives enter the workforce…” ➡️ This means young people are starting jobs, and they bring tech skills with them.
