The Kingdom of Namayan, ruled by Lakantagkan and his wife Buan, included present-day Sta. Ana, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pandacan, and other nearby areas.

Sr. Ma. Salome Castro and Sr. Zosima Zapanta were the pioneers who assisted the Franciscan Fathers in religious instruction in Sta. Ana in October 1911.

Escuela Parroquial de Sta. Ana was the Spanish name of the school when it was established as a parochial school in 1915 and became Escuela Catolica de Sta. Ana in the 1920s.

In 1949, the school received government recognition for its high school and was renamed Sta. Ana Academy following expansion efforts.

In School Year 1959 - 1960, boys transferred to St. Francis School, and Sta. Ana Academy became exclusive for girls and was later renamed St. Ann Academy.

The name was changed in 1999 to align with the RVM naming tradition.
