About this activity

A Day at the Animal Shelter

Every Saturday, Lily volunteers at the local animal shelter. If animals don’t get enough attention, they become sad and lonely, so she makes sure to play with them every week. The staff at the shelter always says, “If we treat them with love, they stay healthy and happy.”

Lily loves working with dogs and cats. If a dog barks too much, she takes it for a walk to help it relax. If the cats look bored, she brings toys and plays with them. She believes that if you care for animals, they will trust you.

Next weekend, if it doesn’t rain, Lily will organize an adoption event in the park. If people see how sweet the animals are, maybe they will want to take one home. She knows that if more pets find families, the shelter will have space for new rescues.

Lily says, “If everyone gives just a little time, we can change many lives — even if we don’t have much money.”
