La suma de los cuadrados de los catetos es igual al cuadrado de la hipotenusa.

3² + 4² = 9 + 16 = 25, y √25 = 5.

5² + 12² = 25 + 144 = 169, √169 = 13.

Pitágoras se aplica solo en triángulos con ángulo recto.

La hipotenusa al cuadrado es la suma de los cuadrados de los catetos.

10² = 6² + b² → 100 = 36 + b² → b² = 64 → b = 8.

La hipotenusa debe ser el lado más largo, igual a √(a²+b²).
