Explicación

"While" significa "mientras" y se usa mucho con el past continuous. Otra manera de escribirlo es "whilst", aunque los British son los que más suelen usar esta forma.

Recuerda que cuando hablamos de acciones que ocurren al mismo tiempo, tanto en inglés como en español podemos usar el past continuous o el past simple: My son read while I cooked = My son was reading while I was cooking.

Podemos usar el verbo "to want" en past continuous si, por ejemplo, queremos pedir algo de forma menos directa y más educada: I was wanting to ask you something. Are you free right now?
