Explicació

Qualsevol persona que tingui relacions sexuals sense protecció pot contagiar-se, encara que sigui amb una sola parella.

N’hi ha prou amb una sola relació sexual sense protecció per contraure una ITS.

Moltes ITS són asimptomàtiques, però es poden transmetre igualment.

Redueixen molt el risc, però algunes ITS (com el VPH o l’herpes) es poden transmetre pel contacte amb la pell.

La píndola només evita embarassos, no infeccions.

Les ITS poden afectar persones de qualsevol edat que tinguin relacions sexuals.

Infeccions com la clamídia o la gonorrea poden provocar danys als òrgans reproductors.

Sense tractament, poden empitjorar o provocar complicacions greus.

El VIH és el virus; la SIDA és la fase avançada quan el sistema immunitari ja està molt debilitat.

l VIH només es transmet per sang, fluids sexuals o de mare a fill, no pel contacte quotidià.

Hi ha vacunes efectives contra el VPH i l’hepatitis B.

Alguns virus i bacteris es poden contagiar mitjançant sexe oral sense protecció.

El preservatiu no protegeix al 100%. És important fer-se controls periòdics.

Tant homes com dones poden transmetre o rebre infeccions.

Es poden tractar per controlar els símptomes, però el virus pot quedar al cos.

La higiene no elimina el risc: el contagi ja pot haver-se produït durant el contacte.

També poden transmetre’s pel contacte oral o pel contacte amb lesions o fluids.

Detectar-les aviat evita danys permanents i redueix el risc de transmissió.

El VIH o la sífilis poden passar al nadó si no es prenen mesures mèdiques.

Es pot tornar a contraure una ITS si hi ha noves exposicions sense protecció.
