About this activity
My name is Sofia, and I'm 14 years old. People often ask me how I stay so active and happy all the time. My secret? I do things rain or shine!
Every morning at 6:30 AM, I wake up and check the weather app on my phone. Some days are sunny and warm, perfect for outdoor activities. Other days are rainy and cold, which means I need to change my plans. But here's the thing: I never cancel my commitments because of the weather.
When it's sunny, I love going to the park with my best friend, Carolina. We ride our bikes, play volleyball, or simply sit under a tree and talk about everything. The sunshine makes us feel energized and ready to conquer the world! On sunny days, I also practice skateboarding in the plaza near my house. It's my favorite hobby, and I'm getting better every week.
However, when the forecast shows rain or storms, I don't stay in bed feeling sad. Instead, I adapt! Rainy days are perfect for indoor activities. I go to the gym and attend my dance class, which I absolutely love. Dancing helps me stay fit and express my emotions. Sometimes, my mom and I bake cookies together while listening to the rain outside. It's so peaceful and fun!
Last Saturday was a great example of my "rain or shine" attitude. I had planned to go hiking with my family in the mountains, but when we woke up, it was pouring rain. My little brother wanted to stay home and play video games, but I suggested something different. "Let's go to the indoor climbing center!" I said. My family loved the idea, and we had an amazing time. We climbed different walls, challenged each other, and even made new friends there.
My parents always tell me, "Sofia, you have such a positive attitude!" I believe that weather shouldn't control our lives. Whether it's sunny, rainy, cloudy, or even snowy, there's always something fun to do. The key is to have a plan B and stay flexible.
This philosophy has helped me in many ways. I never miss my English classes, rain or shine. I never skip my basketball practice, rain or shine. And I never forget to call my grandmother every Sunday afternoon, rain or shine. These commitments are important to me, and I won't let bad weather stop me.
So, the next time someone asks you, "What will you do if it rains?" just smile and say, "I'll do it rain or shine!" Life is too short to let weather ruin your plans. Be a Weather Warrior like me!
