Explicació

Les paraules esdrúixoles porten sempre l'accent gràfic a l'antepenúltima síl·laba.

Les paraules planes porten l'accent en la penúltima sílaba; si no és així, poden ser esdrújules o agudes.

Les paraules agudes tenen la síl·laba tònica a l'última síl·laba i poden portar accent si acaben en: -a, -e, -i, -o, -u, -as, -es, -is, -os, -us, -en, -in.

Esdrúixola és quan l'accent recau a l'antepenúltima síl·laba; música és esdrúixola.

Només porten accent les paraules acabades en -en o -in quan la paraula és aguda (la síl·laba tònica és l'última) o quan la paraula és esdrúixola (la síl·laba tònica és l'antepenúltima).

Plana: síl·laba tònica en penúltima síl·laba; Esdrúixola: síl·laba tònica en antepenúltima síl·laba.

En les paraules planes només posem accent quan NO acaben en -a, -e, -i, -o, -u, -as, -es, -is, -os, -us, -en, -in.

L'accent serveix per marcar les síl·labes tòniques i per diferenciar paraules.
