Los LEDs son diodos que emiten luz por electroluminiscencia cuando la corriente pasa en un solo sentido.

La polaridad correcta permite la conducción y la emisión de fotones.

Usos comunes: indicadores, iluminación, pantallas y señalización.

La copa reflectora dirige la luz hacia afuera.

El color depende del material semiconductor utilizado.
