Jakarta, February 25, 2026 – Heavy rainfall that poured for more than six hours caused severe flooding in several areas of Jakarta on Tuesday night. The flood affected hundreds of houses and disrupted traffic in the city.

According to the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency, the water level reached up to one meter in some residential areas. Many residents were forced to evacuate to safer places. Emergency teams were sent to help people and provide basic necessities such as food and clean water.

One of the residents said that the flood came quickly after continuous rain since the afternoon. “The water entered our house around 8 p.m., and we had to move our belongings to higher places,” she explained.
