Spam Filter A spam detection system flags emails as spam or not spam. It is very important that legitimate emails are not incorrectly marked as spam, because users might miss important messages.

Fraud Detection A system identifies fraudulent credit card transactions. Missing a fraudulent transaction could result in serious financial loss.

Balanced Image Dataset A model classifies images as either cats or dogs. Both categories appear in similar numbers, and all types of mistakes are equally important.

Medical Screening A test is used to detect a serious disease. Doctors want to make sure that as many real cases as possible are detected, even if some healthy people are flagged for further testing.
