الأحداث المتنافية لا يمكن أن تتحقّق في آن واحد.

لأن P(A∪B)=P(A)+P(B) عندما تكون A وB متنافيين.

السقوط 2 أو 3 يمكن أن يكون زوجياً (مثلاً 2)؛ لذلك ليسا متنافيين.

لأنهما لا يمكن أن يحدثا في نفس الوقت.

حدثان من تجارب مختلفة ولا يتداخلان في سياق تجربة واحدة؟ في سؤالك، كلاهما من تجربة واحدة مختلفه، فعادة نعتبرها متنافيين.

P(A∪B)=P(A)+P(B) حين تتنافيان.

إذا كانت الحقيبة تحتوي فقط كرات حمراء وزرقاء وبسحب واحد، فالتقاط كرة حمراء يمنع التقاط زرقاء في نفس السحب.
