La fraction décrit une partie d’un tout lorsque le dénominateur indique le total et le numérateur les parts prises.

Le numérateur est le nombre de parts coloriées sur le total du dénominateur.

Une fraction irréductible ne peut plus être simplifiée. 2/4 se simplifie à 1/2.

On cherche un facteur commun et on divise les deux nombres par ce facteur.

PGCD est le Plus Grand Diviseur Commun des deux nombres.

12÷6=2 et 18÷6=3, donc 2/3.

Le dénominateur compte les parts totales du tout.

Avec le même dénominateur, on ajoute les numérateurs et on garde ce dénominateur.

Soustraire les numérateurs donne 3/6, qui peut être simplifié à 1/2.

9 et 12 divisés par 3 donnent 3/4.
