A Missed Opportunity

Last year, Julia had the chance to apply for a job at an international logistics company. She saw the advertisement online, but she didn’t feel confident enough about her English skills. If she had believed in herself, she would have sent her CV right away. Instead, she decided to wait and improve her language first.

A week later, her friend Marcos told her he had applied for the same position. If Julia had known that Marcos was applying, she would have felt more motivated. Marcos had always encouraged her, and if she had listened to his advice earlier, she would have taken more risks.

Two months passed, and Marcos got the job. He told Julia that the interview had been easier than expected. If Julia had applied, she would have realized that her English was good enough. She started to regret her decision. If she hadn’t been so afraid of making mistakes, she would have had a great opportunity.

Later that year, Julia enrolled in an English course. She promised herself that if she had another chance in the future, she wouldn’t hesitate again. She learned an important lesson: sometimes, fear can stop you from doing great things. If she had taken that risk before, her life might have changed completely.
