The Sun provides the energy that heats and moves air, creating weather. Lunar gravity, core heat, and comets have no direct weather control.

A barometer measures pressure. Thermometers measure temperature, hygrometers humidity, and anemometers wind speed.

Condensation turns vapor into tiny droplets forming clouds; evaporation is vapor formation, sublimation is solid to vapor, and precipitation is rain/snow.

The ozone layer is in the stratosphere, protecting us from UV radiation.

Relative humidity compares actual vapor content to the maximum possible at that temperature; it changes with temperature.

Thunderstorms form when warm, moist air rises, cools, and condenses rapidly; but droughts, hurricanes, and tornadoes have different triggers.

Trade winds dominate the tropics, blowing toward the equator from subtropical highs. Westerlies and polar easterlies are at higher latitudes.

Anemometers measure wind speed; thermometers measure temperature, barometers pressure, hygrometers humidity.

Isobars link points of equal pressure; they help indicate wind flow and pressure systems.

Cold fronts bring cooler air and often thunderstorms as it undercuts warm air; not typically heat waves or droughts.
