Reported speech backshifts present to past: am -> was.

Yes/No questions become 'if/whether' + past tense.

Starts with a WH word; it's a WH question.

Use that + past tense; 'is' becomes 'was'.

Past perfect reported: have finished -> had finished.

Future 'will' becomes 'would'; tomorrow -> the next day.

Yes/No questions use 'whether' + past continuous for consistency.

Future will in question becomes would in reported form.

WH questions use where + past tense in reported form.
