Feedback

Backshift the verb: am → was, and remove quotation marks.

If the reporting verb is in past, shift would → would, but here it’s already future. Direct form uses will.

Use if/whether for questions; backshift: do → did, like → liked.

Indirect past perfect becomes direct present perfect if still true; here simplest is backshift and present.

Can → could in reported speech; pronoun adjusted.

Backshift of had visited does not necessarily translate; but for practice we convert to direct with perfect.

Are → were after reporting verb in past.

Could is a backshift of can; maintain question form in direct speech.

Do/does simplify to past tense in reporting; where → where.

Would in indirect typically becomes will in direct when referring to future from now.
