About this activity

Things to keep in mind before playing:
• Before starting, write your name.
• You can work in pairs to find words more easily. Start by writing both of your names, or if you prefer to work individually, you can do so.
• Take out your notes, texts, and annotations beforehand, as you know there are difficult names in Gulliver's Travels, and you only have 60 seconds to write each word.
• The game is about the Restoration period, so things from "An Essay on Man," "Gulliver's Travels," or general information about the era may appear.
• The answer will always be one word, never a phrase, a compound word, two words, or a word separated by hyphens.
• Some definitions have images that can help you; you can click on them to zoom in.
• Pay attention to whether it says "contains x letter" or "begins with x letter."
• The game is not case-sensitive, plural/singular-sensitive or punctuation-sensitive, but it is sensitive to spelling mistakes. If you misspell a word, you cannot rewrite it.
• If you don't know a word, you can move on to the next one, but you can never move backwards. To go back and answer that word, you have to go all the way around the word wheel. The word will be paused for the number of seconds that were previously deducted. Therefore, it's recommended that you play in pairs, so one person can type while the other looks it up.
• If you get stuck on a word, it's best to skip ahead to the next letter. This way, you don't lose more time and can think about it while completing the rest of the wheel.
