Add 6.40 and 0.9 then subtract 1.05.

Multiply 0.9 by 0.6, then add 0.05.

Adding decimals aligns decimals by place value; 12.45 + 7.30 = 19.75.

Line up decimal points before subtracting.

9.50 − 2.75 = 6.75.

3.6 × 2.5 = (3.6×2) + (3.6×0.5) = 7.2 + 1.8 = 9.0.

0.4 × 7.25 = 0.4×7 + 0.4×0.25 = 2.8 + 0.1 = 2.9.
