التنوين هو النون الثابتة عند النطق في انتهاء الاسم، وهو ليس هاء ولا ألف مد.

تنوين الفتح يُقرأ كفتحتيْن على آخر الكلمة مثل كتاباً.

تنوين الكسرة هو قراءة كسرتين عند الإعراب في نهاية الاسم.

تنوين الضمة يقرأ كضمتين في نهاية الاسم مثلُ السماءً؟ لا، السماءُ قد تحتوي على ضمة عند التنوين.

التنوين يؤثر في النطق فقط ويُكتب كالنون التنوينية داخل الكلمة عند الإعراب، مثل كتاباً.

التنوين ينطق عند الإعراب ولكنه لا يحذف من الكتابة حين يأتي مع تاء مربوطة.

كِتاباً يحتوي على تنوين الفتح عند النطق.

بِخِلْقٍ يحتوي على تنوين كسري.

قَلْبُهُ يظهر تنوين الضمة باللفظ عندما يكون الاسم منتهيًا بضمة.
