Explicación

Use backshift of tense: 'am' becomes 'was' when reporting in the past.

Change yes/no questions by using 'if' or 'whether' and backshift tense.

Past perfect 'had finished' matches the reporting past.

Wh- questions become 'where' + backshift of tense.

Time expressions often shift: 'tomorrow' becomes 'the next day'.

Modal 'can' becomes 'could' in reported speech.

Wh- clause uses past perfect for the earlier action.

If imperative, use verbs like reminded or ordered; negation with 'not to'.

Time expressions shift to the following/week where appropriate; 'next week' -> 'the following week'.

Present perfect 'have seen' becomes past perfect 'had never seen' in reporting.
