Feedback

The SH sound is /ʃ/. /s/ is a voiceless alveolar fricative, /tʃ/ is the CH sound, and /ɕ/ is a different sound in some languages.

Shop begins with the /ʃ/ sound. Pine starts with /p/ or /ai/, light with /l/ or /t/.

Fisher allows /ʃ/ in the middle; 'fashion' has /ʃ/ in the middle as well, but ensure the example matches the quiz content.

'Shiny' and 'shells' begin with /ʃ/. Other phrases start with different sounds.

'Sound' begins with /s/ and does not have the /ʃ/ sound.

In 'ship' the initial /ʃ/ is the SH sound; 'she' also starts with /ʃ/. The others mix different sounds.

SH is a voiceless postalveolar fricative produced with a near-close tongue position and open air flow.

SH in 'sheep' is a digraph representing /ʃ/; 'phone' and 'jar' do not have SH.

'Sharks' and 'splash' both include /ʃ/; the others do not twice.

Mistaking /ʃ/ for /s/ changes the sound; /ʒ/ is a different sound, and other errors alter word pronunciation.
