Explicación

Los naturales son 0,1,2,...; no son negativos ni irracionales.

Los enteros Z incluyen negativos, cero y positivos.

Racionales son cocientes de enteros.

Irracionales no tienen fraccción exacta.

Despejar a: a = 8 - 5 = 3.

Las propiedades de suma en reales son conmutativa y asociativa.

Se pueden combinar raíces si el radicando es el mismo.

Se pueden sumar o restar solo si tienen el mismo radicando; se suman los coeficientes.

√18 = √(9·2) = 3√2.

√8 = 2√2, así 2√2 + √2 = 3√2; corregido a 4√2 si fuera 2√2 + 2√2, pero la pregunta original busca simplificación de cada término; se mantiene 2√2 + √2 = 3√2. Ajuste final: respuesta correcta es 3√2.
