Les jointures combinent des lignes de différentes tables à partir d’un champ commun (clé primaire ↔ clé étrangère).

La normalisation permet d’éviter la redondance et les incohérences. Les jointures permettent de reconstituer des informations.

La jointure se fait typiquement via une clé primaire ↔ clé étrangère.

On peut écrire SELECT ... FROM Clients, Commandes WHERE ... (implicite) ou utiliser INNER JOIN ... ON (explicite).

INNER JOIN filtre les résultats aux lignes qui ont une correspondance dans les deux côtés.

LEFT JOIN conserve les enregistrements de la table gauche et met NULL pour les non-correspondants.

Le RIGHT JOIN peut être simulé par un LEFT JOIN en inversant les rôles des tables.

FULL OUTER JOIN renvoie toutes les lignes des deux tables, avec ou sans correspondance.

INNER JOIN retourne les clients qui ont des commandes associées.

LEFT JOIN permet d’inclure les enregistrements sans correspondance et d’identifier les absents.
