Nesta atividade, os alunos deverão ler dois pequenos textos sobre Emma e Jake, que vivenciam situações cotidianas em diferentes contextos de uso da língua inglesa. A partir da identificação de palavras, expressões e outros elementos presentes nos textos, os alunos deverão inferir onde cada personagem está e reconhecer diferenças entre o Inglês Britânico e o Inglês Americano. A atividade também propõe uma reflexão sobre a variação linguística, levando os alunos a relacionar as diferenças observadas no inglês com exemplos da língua portuguesa, considerando os diferentes contextos regionais e sociais de uso da língua.
