The Feast of Fools was a real celebration during the Middle Ages where social roles were reversed, and people enjoyed music, costumes, and humor. Hugo included it to make the story feel historically authentic.

Quasimodo is a fictional character created by Victor Hugo. Although there may have been real bell-ringers, there is no historical evidence that Quasimodo actually existed.

Notre Dame was built as a Catholic cathedral for worship, not as a palace. Kings visited it for important ceremonies, but it was never a royal residence.
