Las fracciones indican partes de un todo dividido en partes iguales.

El numerador indica cuántas partes se toman o se consideran.

Se lee como “cinco sobre ocho”.

Coloreaste 3 de las 4 partes iguales.

Numerador indica cuántos elementos de un total de 5 están considerados.

El denominador especifica en cuántas partes iguales se divide el todo.

Con el mismo denominador se suman los numeradores.

Dividiendo numerator y denominador por 2 se obtiene 3/4.

2/3 ≈ 0.666 es mayor que 3/5 = 0.6.
