1904 fue fundación en París para coordinar el fútbol mundial.

Uruguay se llevó el título inaugural disputado en Uruguay.

Cada equipo alinea 11 jugadores en el campo.

El fuera de juego se juzga por la posición al recibir un pase, no por tocar o no tocar el balón.

La duración estándar es 90 minutos, divididos en dos tiempos de 45.

El penalti se otorga por faltas dentro del área penal.

Brasil ha ganado la mayor cantidad de Copas del Mundo.

Cuando el balón cruza completamente la línea lateral, se concede saque de banda.

El área penal (grande) es la rectanglea frente a cada portería; dentro se cometen faltas sancionables con árbitro.

La segunda amarilla equivale a una tarjeta roja y expulsión.
