The civil war was about abolishing slavery in the southern states.

Texas was the trigger, Mexico wanted to keep Texas but Texas wanted to be part from the Ubited States. The United States wanted to expand according to their idea of Manifest Destiny.

Wars are expensive, they destroy entire economies, they empoverish innoven people; violence is never the best option.

Germany was the one to be blaimed losing its colonies and territory, control of its rivers, having to decrease their military forces and having to pay the winners.

Germany was punished again for the war along with Japan and led to another war: the Cold War.
