Para sumar fracciones que tienen el mismo denominador, se suman los numeradores y se deja el mismo denominador.

Para restar fracciones que tienen el mismo denominador, se restan los denominadores y se deja el mismo numerador.

Después de hacer operaciones con fracciones, si es posible, simplificamos el resultado hasta conseguir una fracción irreducible.

Para sumar una unidad con una fracción, dividimos la unidad en tantas partes desiguales como indique el denominador de la fracción y sumamos ambas fracciones.

Para restar una unidad con una fracción, dividimos la unidad en tantas partes iguales como indique el denominador de la fracción y restamos ambas fracciones.
